Summer is synonymous with heat, sun, and tanning, often putting our skin to the test. Sunburn, redness, tightness, perspiration, excess sebum: our epidermis demands gentleness and freshness more than ever. This is where a simple and ultra-effective solution comes in: hydrosol mist.
What is a hydrosol?
Resulting from the distillation of plants, hydrosol is the floral or plant water that collects water-soluble active ingredients and a portion of aromatic molecules. Unlike simple perfumed waters, hydrosols retain real therapeutic and dermatological properties, without being as concentrated as essential oils, which allows them to be well tolerated by the whole family and even by all skin types.
Why adopt a hydrosol mist in summer?
Soothe hot flashes and redness. Some hydrosols are rich in anti-inflammatory and calming active ingredients. For example, rose hydrosol is known to soothe redness and rebalance the skin (source: International Journal of Aromatherapy, 2009). A spray can already help relieve feelings of heat after a day in the sun or a workout.
Gently hydrate the skin. When it's hot, the skin loses more water through evaporation. Spraying a mist provides immediate, non-greasy hydration, ideal even for combination to oily skin. It can even replace your usual toner for a lighter feel.
Refresh throughout the day. Tucked into your bag or kept in the refrigerator, hydrosol mist becomes a delightful ritual. One or two sprays are enough to refresh the face, set makeup, or reconnect with yourself thanks to the subtlety of plant scents.
Effectiveness proven by science… and by the senses. Studies have demonstrated the benefits of hydrosols, including their antioxidant and hydrating effects (Pharmaceutical Biology study, 2015). But what also appeals is the sensory experience: the light floral scent, the feeling of fresh and soft skin, the immediate impression of breathing better in the heat.
At Aliscential, we have formulated 100% pure and natural hydrosol mists, obtained from the distillation of noble plants such as Rose, Orange Blossom, and Peppermint.
